Writer Statement

I’m on a mission to write in the cheeky space where humor intersects with the darker shades of the human experience. My work strives to find the point where reality tries to burst comedy’s bubble but comedy fights back. My characters navigate hilariously absurd situations with the best intentions, the faultiest moral compasses, and with the kind of rapid-fire dialogue that would make Amy Sherman-Palladino say “Oy with the poodles already!”.

I got my start writing short-form content, where every word counts and the pacing keeps audiences engaged and on their toes. This experience has taught me to create rich characters and compelling story arcs in just a few minutes, which translates seamlessly into writing engaging stories for more expansive scripts.

Original Works

Bach (pronouced “batch”)

Genre: Comedy/Horror, Half-Hour TV Pilot

Status: Pilot written and Pitch Deck completed

Logline: When a joint bachelor/bachelorette party (or “bach” party) ventures into the New Jersey woods for a relaxing weekend of fun and games their party is annoyingly crashed by a Jersey Devil worshiping cult who they’ll need to escape before the weekend turns into a total bummer.

Season One Summary: This ensemble driven story follows a Bach Party heading into the Pine Barrens of New Jersey for a camping weekend celebrating Mindy and Dave’s upcoming nuptials. Some of our campers are excited for their weekend adventure in the woods while others are begrudgingly yet loyally coming along to fulfill their bridesmaid/groomsman duties. Once they arrive in the woods, the tension in the group starts to build between ex-lovers, friends who have drifted apart, and a strange connection one party member starts to feel with the nature around her. The woods around them may seem normal but they are the home of the Jersey Devil and more than a few instances of unexplained happenings. To top it off, our group isn’t alone (and we’re not talking bears). There just so happens to be a Jersey Devil worshiping cult living nearby. Too close to our lovely campers for comfort. But that probably won’t come up, right?

Yellow Lines

Genre: Dramedy, Short Form Web Series

Status: Season one is fully produced and currently in post production.

Logline: Quinn and Nik are best friends living in NYC learning how to balance their life, relationships, and their own mental sanity (in other words, they're in their twenties). This series playfully dances around the worrisome and stressful changes that come along with starting a new chapter in your life.

Season One Summary: Yellow Lines follows two twenty-something best friends and roommates living in the hustle and bustle of NYC, Quinn and Nik. After one chaotic night, one of our girls ends up going through a shattering and very public breakup and the other gets unexpectedly proposed to. The gut-wrenching sympathy one friend feels for the other leads her to hold a huge secret in a misguided attempt to care for the other. The rest of the series follows the aftermath of this night. Each episode brings a new day and a new opportunity for our characters to make the right decisions. Tension builds as the one who holds her proposal a secret struggles to be honest with her friend (and herself) and the other tries to pull herself up after her heartbreak. The girls need to rely on their sisterly-like bond to get them through these crazy times but that bond seems to be shakier than ever. They need to chose to grow and learn as they transition into a new phase of their lives or drown in the unforgiving ocean of adulting.
